Biography
I have always been a stranger. When I came, everyone welcomed me. But I sensed a coldness behind their calm faces. Uncertainty, fear, apprehension. No one really knew me.
The trees were like the mountains. Tall, imposing, yet beautiful. The lotus flowers on the river reminded me of the excess of pink chalcedony in my home. Or rather, former home. No longer to be mine. Yet the sounds and sights awakened in me a wildness, the draconian savageness bred into my line for generations. I may have been from Arcane, a faction filled with dreamers and scientists, but Nature called to the wild within me. And the patron goddess, the Gladekeeper, cleared my mind. No, this is not about discovering my place in her heart or anything soppy like that. No, this is about my life as a hunter. As a hatchling, my purpose was to appease the gods. My siblings and I were so excited. We were to be sent on to the Arcanist. Then, one day, Cassandra, a mysterious blue fae, showed up. I'd seen her before, but she had never seen me. She inspected all the hatchlings for signs of something. Even she does not know what she is searching for, or so she says. That day, she searched our clutch. She saw me, and her eyes widened. Athlea gladly gave me up to Cassandra. Perhaps she hoped the small blue Fae would see some hidden potential that I had. Maybe she just wanted me gone, or owed a favor to a friend. Guess I'll never know. Anyway, once Cassandra had finished with the adoption process, she brought me back to the Glade. The sheer vastness of her forest... a forest of daydreams and nightmares, Life and Death, fire and water. Both beautiful and deadly. She turned to me, opening her mouth to speak ",No longer will your life be in the claws of your kin. It may be strange, and frightening," nailed it. "But you will persevere. And none will stand in your way. "
i never forgot what she said that day. And I'll always remember, until the day I die. And after.
