Yuichiro, known to his clanmates by his nickname 'Yuu', is a very reckless dragon with trouble dealing with authority. His strong sense of justice and powerful desire to protect his family, blood-related or otherwise, often leads to him butting heads with Iizlom, who is often the one leading any expeditions where combat is expected, even if she doesn't lead the clan anymore. The Skydancer appreciates and even admires his bravery and how he puts his family's lives above his own, but she keeps reminding him that there is more to worry about than protecting them alone. Yuu and his 'brother' Mika were found and taken in by the clan a mere week before the Great Plague struck. With the number of dragons rapidly dwindling, the two soon found themselves without anyone to care for them, the dragons in charge of communally rearing hatchlings dead within days. Feykro decided to take the two in and raise them from there as his own sons, although to his horror Mika also began exhibiting symptoms of the deadly plague. Sick with worry, Yuu was unable to sit still until he got the news that Mika was going to pull through. Yuu feels somehow responsible for the deaths of the other hatchlings that were claimed by the plague, as somehow he was the only one that managed to avoid being infected. As such, he harbours a bitter hatred for the Plaguebringer, and to a lesser extent all Plague dragons. He will treat them with cold hostility at best, and if he's in a particularly bad mood it's not unheard of for Yuu to attack them unprovoked. Within the clan, Yuu helps to make up the main fighting force, alongside Iizlom and Axiel, even if he only reluctantly fights alongside the latter. With Iizlom a mere shadow of her former self, Alexandra has to give them instructions before any venture, although with Yuu's rebellious streak and Axiel's tendency to lose herself in battle, they are rarely followed. His relationship with the clan's leader, Alexandra, is strained to say the least. Unlike the clan's previous leader, she is very focused and has more of a head for the big picture. Unfortunately, that often clashes with Yuu's rash and impulsive nature, often leading to the injury of the small band of fighters he's part of, and more often himself. He avoids Axiel and Kipouros as much as he can, knowing full well of their origins in the Scarred Wasteland, despite the fact that Axiel lost her entire family to the Great Plague, and Kipouros is extremely atypical for a dragon of his elemental alignment. For all his dislike of authority, Alexandra's death shook Yuu greatly. He rarely listened to the clan leader's wisdom, preferring his own brand of justice, but he never could have dreamed that the Skydancer would be murdered. Her death was a cruel reminder of just what he was fighting for, and like Eve he now fights with the resistance to crush Zero, however impossible the task seems. |
