The world of Flight Rising is rife with danger. Around every corner, agents of the Beastclans seek a way to strike out at the different clans populating the world. Information is the lifeblood of a dragon clan, and none understand that as well as Hippolyta. Born amongst the crashing waves of the Tidelord’s domain, it had always been sink or swim for the young fae. Growing up amongst the rip currents and the tidal pools, strength and speed were necessity for survival in the deep blue of the Sea of a Thousand Currents. Early on, Hippolyta demonstrated she had the capacity not only to survive, but also thrive amongst the reefs and shoals of the sea.

Considered by many to be a prodigy, Hippolyta felt there was something missing from the Tidelord’s domain. It was said she was born with too much of the Tidelord in her; just as the calm of the ocean obscured the reefs and shoals of fish, a calm and collected exterior hid the dragon’s true face. The young fae never approved of the analogy; the ocean could be calm one moment and restless the next, where as she always kept herself under tight control. Hippolyta felt there had to be something more than the ocean, a place she could rest and thrive and where, more importantly, her reclusive nature would be tolerated.
Thus began Hipployta’s journey to the Tangled Wood. The strange land carried with it a great weight of importance; just peering at the shadowy woods, illuminated by glowing fungi, Hippolyta knew there was something to be discovered. Eventually, she found a clan to call her own and took up residence in one of the roosts of the Forum of the Obscured Crescent. Quickly, her strength, honed in the Tidelord’s crashing domain, became apparent, allowing her to reach speeds far beyond the other dragons of the clan.

Rising through the ranks of the clan’s different orders with incredible speed, Hippolyta soon found herself leading other dragons on scouting missions. She fit as well into the lands of the Shadowbinder as well as any of her children, her careful control leading her to many a successful campaign. Her carefully controlled interactions with other dragons added to her mystique, leading many to wonder where the fae had come from and why she had chosen to lair with them.
Although she was aware of the whispers and rumors that sprung from her quiet nature, Hippolyta never let them bother her. Something had called her here, to the lands of the Shadowbinder, and she was content to continue searching for it. Every time she sped through the murky groves, tracking a rogue member of the Beastclans, Hippolyta half-hoped she’d stumble on the thing that had brought her to these lands. Until then, she was content to wait.

"There is no such thing as chance. I am here for reason; I simply have not found it yet."
