Biography

.:NACHT:.
~The Demon Who Dwells in the Book~

There are stories in the clan of an evil dragon created during the last moments of a vengeful sorcerer's life. That dragon, it is said, lives only to cover the world in darkness and despair. Most think of this story as something invented to scare hatchlings into going home before the sun sets, lest the dark dragon finds them and consumes their souls. But others say the tales are true...

Whatever you believe, the tales go like this.

Nacht, as a manifestation of that sorcerer's hatred for the world, travels across dimensions in a constant search for new realms to infect with darkness. Though he wields powerful dark magic and has great cunning, all his might lies in a peculiar object he always carries -- a tattered, ancient book that contains his life force. If it is destroyed, he will die, and so he protects this treasure with tooth and claw.

Also hidden inside Nacht's book is his own malignant world, a twisted, black land where the ground writhes like snakes and the sky is permanently an ominous purple and magenta. The demon dragon has the ability to control the entire realm in the book, from the weather to the earth. He can enter the book and come out of it at will, but while he is stronger inside its pages, he cannot affect the outside world from within it. Thus, to accomplish his duty of wreaking havoc, he must emerge from his book.

Among his powers is the ability to summon spirits of darkness to his aid. He can also trap victims inside his book if he tricks them into reading it, by transforming the appearance of his book into something appealing to the reader. After he traps someone, he eats their soul, growing stronger for each soul he consumes.

The Shade is his ally, and it is said that wherever he goes, the Shade will follow...
