Hey, hey, go right past the second den, with all the various shimmering trinkets, and straight forward to that extra-big rounded tree. Just trust me, okay, there'll be an opening under the tall arched root you can walk right into.

Ooh, yikes, not that one. The tall one. Slip inside the tree, and you'll find a bright and cosy place to settle and wait! Much safer than heading into Refraction's den back there, really. Just be patient. (Sorry 'bout that root thing. No, no, ignore the hatchlings. It happens to everyone, really!)

The den has a floor that's been tamped down by many small feet, from the constant gamboling about of hatchlings. If you don't see Jade or Resistance inside, watching the kids, it's probably Ohm there.

Or. Well. Nowadays you'll see just Ohm, probably. Best not look for Jade - she's called Voltage now - if you don't like to gamble your safety on her fragile stability. A long time ago, Ohm would smile softly at you from under her hood. Then, she'd return to listening to whatever hatchling is chattering to her, simultaneously stirring some oddly bubbling brew, tucked into a groove cut into the tree's trunk.

Now, you're lucky if you get more than a glance or a slow, sad blink as she waits in apathetic silence for you to explain why you're here.

Anyway, most dragons here to get some kind of antivenin or potion. They're all unlabeled, or labeled with helpful things like "a potion....probably", "brewed yesterday", or something that might have been words written by a pen in someone's mouth. Probably was, actually.

You best wait around for Ohm to show up, or chance asking Voltage to call Ohm in from the workshop, and she'll slink her way over to the alchemy room to get what you need. Just check to be sure it's right. Ohm remembers who says what, and isn't above handing you a toxin with a sweet, demure smile and whispered "this should be what you need"s. Refraction's not here to stop her, anymore.

Ohm is a soft-spoken dragon, even so for her breed.She came to the lair where she found herself a fast friend in the resident witch in the usual way, as most migrant dragons do. Enchanted by the fellow imperial, Ohm set up her cauldron and stuck close - almost like Jade gained a reflective purple and black shadow! Sharing workspaces led to sharing meals led to sharing a den together. Jade was fine, quite happy with what they had, but she also noticed the Look Ohm had started to give a gorgeous, flouncy skydancer.

Of course, what's a witch without love potions and a healthy dose of meddling? (Well, aside from the fact that it's no business of Jade's...) One day, she recommended that Ohm go out south to look for ingredients, not north like she had been. A few hours later, Ohm came across the selfsame skydancer she had been crushing on! What a surprise, who could have known Resistance would be practicing in the south...?

Nervously, Ohm greeted Res, stammering out that she was there looking for ingredients - hoping that the other wouldn't think Ohm was following her or anything. Resistance reciprocated with a rather enthusiastic offer of help, and then they "ran into" eachother again. The two grew close, and then Resistance joined Jade and Ohm for dinner, like she'd always been there.

Eventually, Jade decided she was going to travel away from the lair, and wouldn't Res and Ohm run away with her, oh, pretty please? (Big puppy-dog eyes were involved.) Res agreed instantly, eager for adventure, and after a moment Ohm nodded too. When they heard the destination, Ohm was quite excited - the Tangled Woods? Home of creepers, crawlers, and all kinds of murk and muck? There's no better place for her alchemical pursuits! Oh, yeah, she was definitely game to go.

Her enthusiasm didn't wane despite the hardships they went through. Ohm's determination that the three would find the right lair, and yes, it would be worth it, certainly helped the other two keep going. Yes, she even managed a cheeky "told you so!" when Resistance came back to their campsite with news that she found a place, a proper place, for them to stay.

And so Ohm settled down as, coincidentally, the second Plague-alined alchemist in the pack. Refraction was more than happy to help her with experiments, provided she assisted him sometimes. Ohm was just as pleased to find a senior alchemist who didn't mind a little fooling around now and then. Here's one from the two of them: Tongue of newt, two frog's eyes, nose of pig, rat's tail. Reduce, stir counter-clockwise 7 times, reverse 3, and add a little bit of Breath - and you get an instant happiness potion! 8^P
