Biography
Regarding the first of the two sabaconid clades, comprising only Sabacon, a simple generic rank has to be rejected. Sabacon is highly diversified, and its primary lineages are comparably older than most other genera within the superfamily and within the Dyspnoi.
Restricting Sabaconidae to Sabacon and treating Hesperonemastoma and Taracus as a separate taxonomic unit provides a convincing number of diagnostic characters to accept both as well-defined entities which is in accordance with strong molecular support.
