GENDER - - nonbinary | pronouns - they/them/theirs/themself ETYMOLOGY - From Japanese 花 (ka) meaning "flower, blossom" and 音 (non) meaning "sound". RELATIONS - p a r e n t s : - Zaz and Yvo are their parents, and both of them are nonbinary too. Kanon never grew up using parent-words like "mama" or "dada," as neither really fit. They just called their parents by their names. m a t e s : - Aoidos - A windsong imperial who cares for the insects that live in and around the clan, who ensures beneficial bugs are healthy in the orchard and that no pests harm Kanon's orchard. The two often visit each others' dens and are very close. - Lodic - A wildclaw who has turned into into somewhat of a plant since his time in the mire. Kanon is exceedingly fond of him, and is thrilled that he acts as a father to all of their children, even the ones that aren't his own. c h i l d r e n : - Sylwen - their daughter with Aoidos, who is a weather mage and helps maintain the climate in the gardens - Zither - their son with Lodic, he grew from a sapling between the two clans' orchards, taken care of by both Lodic and Kanon BELONGINGS - Their lute was sung into shape by Lodic from neatly grown wood and vines that hold their tension. ROLE - They keep an orchard as taught by their parent, Zaz, near Salad's veggie garden and Indie's farm, and forage for wild edibles for the clan and medicinals for the clan's physician, Dr. Demi. Being that they are one of the members who help keep the clan fed, they are indispensable.

In the clan of their childhood, Kanon always felt rather out of place. They find themself with quite a bit of loyalty to those they latch onto, and felt out of place in a home where mercenaries were known to come through, and where not all dragons felt this way. They always felt at home with their parents, of course, but sometimes a dragon needs a little more community than their immediate family. Shortly after growing into a rather striking and skilled young adult dragon, they decided to strike out and find somewhere new to call their home. They traveled from the Viridian Labrynth through the Sunbean Ruins, across the Sea of a Thousand Currents, and found themself in the Windswept Plateau. They planned to continue their travels, but came across a collection of former-wanderers in need of second-chances who invited them in with open arms and wings... and they knew they were home. Now, Kanon lives just outside the "village" area of the clan, in a bunch of trees. Really, being somewhat plains-like, this is surprising on the windswept plateau to most dragons, but this particular clan is surrounded with several unexpected land features. They have an impressive knowledge of edible plants, especially fruit and nuts, and other edibles that grow on trees, but they also spend time foraging for wild-growing food and medicinals, which Dr. Demi finds immensely useful at times. They tend not to notice idioms and speak in a manner that sometimes is surprising to other dragons, but this only takes a little getting used to. They understand idioms and figures of speech at times, but they often choose not to utilize or acknowledge them. They prefer precision of speech and words of affection over riddles and jokes.
