Biography
Gamble came to the Paladins at a very young age. She was with her own clan, the House of Daedalus, when they came by to help the Paladins, their allies, rebuild. However, Gamble had seen an old tablet, with an incribed image of Athros in his Emperor prime, and she wanted to stay. Nobody was sure why; she was too young to choose Athros as her ward, so everyone assumed it was some kind of crush. Her two friends, Ailbe and Ruid, stayed as well.
Then she grew up, and it became clear that she had, in fact, chosen her ward. However, she still refused to believe that Athros couldn't come back, that he was already dead. She trains in the way of the Paladin, but couldn't seem to focus for a long time; it was clear that without her ward to motivate her, her ability to learn had been stunted.
Then Giovanni came, and things got... weird. While everyone else helped him, then gave him the space he needed to recover, Gamble couldn't stay away from him; She got strangely defensive when anybody approached. The fixation confused most, as Guardians don't change wards, and they doubt at her current age she was old enough to choose a mate; There were only two who weren't confused: Auros, because somehow he's never confused, and Ruid, who knows exactly what's going on, but is not actively interested in telling anyone. So Gamble stays by Giovanni's side, and never leaves. Nobody questions it.
