Biography
Lethadies Sharksnout
our beloved sential
our beloved sential
Personality
The towering Lethadies, posed in front of her gate, is incredibly intimidating. She glares down at dragons who visit the clan, with a little bit of a snarl on her face. Unless the dragon has a Water Flight tradestone, or is known by the ridgeback, they are not responded to. However, if they attempt to chat her up, her grim facade will quickly be broken, and out comes her true personality: extremely awkward. The dragon has a great lisp, and blurts out offensive and inappropriate comments ad noseaum. If her stoic face earlier didn't drive off the solicitor, then this brashness almost certainly will. Her gullibility doesn't make her a great guard, but she does her job welll enough.
Story
Lethadies always believed she was not a dragon destined for greatness. She had a speech impediment, she was slow, not particularly clever, and wasn't even a hard worker to make up for any of that. As a drake, she was convinced she was destined for early exaltation. A big problem was that she was a completely dreadful messenger, and a thoroughly untypical wind dragon. Being not particularly beloved by her birth clan-they were in the process of selling her- when some very strange dragons came up. Looking around shiftily, a strong blue wildclaw snatched Lethadies up in her arms. The young ridgeback was utterly perplexed as the wildclaw sent some mirror forward to bargain for her price. Dismayed at the pitifully small amount exchanged, Lethadies bemoaned her fate at her new home.
She was only to be more confused. The dragons plunged into the sea, and set her up in their lair-a newly-dug hollow sheltered by one of the great sea spires. There, she wasn't immediately put to work-rather, she was mostly left alone. Lethadies found it very strange to be underwater, and even stranger to see all these dragons *whispering* about her. For two weeks, she was given a small home and allowed to live how she wanted, making friends with many of these strange underwater dragons. During her time here, she began to grow and grow, outgrowing her new lair several times. She also became much sturdier and stronger, having better nutrition and a happier life. Then, all of a sudden, she was summoned for a meeting with the Tidelord.
Every Wavecrest, Tidelord invites his clans to come for a personal blessing. While all dragons under his care are bestowed certain abilities, such as varying foresight and breath underwater, Lethadies and several other Ridebacks were gifted the abilities of the shark. Thus, she has no need to sleep, and can smell in the water. Combined with her strong, sturdy self, she was then selected to guard the clan at all times.
Seeing as she is a little lazy, and not particularly careful or fast, it is an excellent job for Lethadies. She crosses her arms, lying in front of the entrance, a gate to either side. Spreading her giant wings, she can cover the entire opening. Often, the dragons will come visit, and keep her company, for she is awake 24/7, keeping watch for rival Maren clans or enemy dragons. Attacks are not common, so her job is very pleasant. Mostly, she just chats it up with visiting emissaries, from other water clans.
Lethadies' selection as a receiver of Tidelord's blessing had been prophisized by oracle Calypso had visited- Lethadies would have gone to a different clan and been chosen if she hadn't been snapped up by the Thallassic Wings. Lethadies came at the perfect time for her clan-at this moment, Denim Wings need an intimidating protector like never before. It might not be greatness, but it's good enough for Lethadies. She is as happy as she'll ever be.

|
Abalo, Lethadies' tiny companion, often floats just underneath the ridgeback's wing while she keeps watch. The dragon loved to coo over her "mini-me" when things get slow around the front gate. Buddy can be seen in Lethadies' arms sometimes when she's standing guard. But most days, he stays in her bed. |
