B I O G R A P H Y

She looks just like a golden idol. Those were the first words that Unahana remembered comprehending, as a gentle face bent to examine her. When she was older, she stared at her reflection in pools around the Sunbeam Ruins, dazzled by the sparkling gold light that bounced back at her. For a time, she hated it. Too perfect, too beautiful, others expected everything about her to be just as bright and wonderful as her exterior.

After she ran away, Unahana discovered that she had had it easy. The Tangled Wood turned her round and around, and the dragons there seemed to cackle in the darkness. Wherever she stepped in the Scarred Wasteland, the ground beneath her burst in an explosion of hot toxins. She took care to keep her pearl, curling around it at night, the only part of her that felt genuine. It was when she was flying over the Sea of A Thousand Currents on a rainy day, drops of cold water rolling off her crystalline scales, that it slipped from her claws. With a cry, she dove down after it. That day, she found her new home.
