______ Saki was born to a clutch laid by a Shadow and Light dragon. The chaos of their two elements combining resulted in Saki's icy powers-- gifted to her by the domain she was born in-- being exceptionally powerful and unstable. Her abilities were so out of control that Let It Go played continuously in her family's lair. So when the Shiroyume Clan of Arcane offered to take the young girl in and raise her to better control her powers, her family agreed. Let It Go was a great song, but on repeat? No thank you.

______ What her family had not been aware of was how the Shiroyume clan intended to "help her." They locked Saki away in an Arcane temple and restricted her contact with others. Some of their theory did prove to be true: It was Saki's out of control emotions, uncharacteristic for an Ice Flight dragon, that seemed to make her powers go haywire. By limiting her contact with other dragons, Saki was forced to meditate and regain control of her heart. Her new contact for dealing with others was to wear a "mask;" She was taught to act like a proper Young Lady, and told that she was an Ice Queen.

______ Then, when she was barely entering adulthood, the lonely Ice Queen was given a brief release. She was allowed to select a few dragons from a list of applicants who might someday become her mate. For a few short weeks, Saki could interact with her potential mates and choose someone to bear her first clutch with. It was an exciting time: The Shiroyume Clan wanted powerful offspring that they could raise and control more effectively than their mother. Saki wanted a friend, even if just for a little while, and a chance to be free.
