Denas
"The Veteran" | Hatchery Guard | Status: Out wandering the path with Yespar.

Denas comes from a large, venerated clan out of shadow. Their lair skirted the edge of the Forum putting them in direct service to the Shadowbinder frequently. Among her clannmates Denas was a strong fighter, by no means the strongest, in such a large and diverse clan she was outfought and outranked by many. She was a skilled scout, and a powerful member of the frontline. She produced many hatchlings that grew into strong and faithful servants of the armies of shadow, and fought in more than enough great battles herself.

After many years of fighting, and years of seeing friends, allies, and her own children perish in the fight, the great huntress grew weary. She was not raised around many other wildclaws, and thus didn't take her souring to battle as a sign of any ill omen. She was just growing older, and weary of the same battles over and over. The armies of shadow were never strong or large enough, the opposing armies weren't either, but she knew of no one in the clan who could forsee an end to this constant tug of war over dominance, or even remember it's beginning. The wildclaw left the realm of shadow for brighter lands, maybe she'd see the sun? That'd be new and interesting.

She found what she sought in Trips clan of wayward travelers, a place to rest, to meet new dragonkind, and to get out of the forever-fight. Here she could travel and live in the light. She found reluctant kinship with Yespar in the clan, who being quite young does not understand the older wildclaws weariness at all, but tries to understand her reasons for leaving her clans service. She also struck up a friendship with Acaph, the two are found reminiscing about the positive aspects of their lives in the Tangled Wood, and occasionally visit the land together with the little fae Etta. She acts as a guard for the hatchery, more as a formality than anything as there are few threats to the clans lair, but she does enjoy watching the young ones grow up.
