A bit of a bookwyrm

Most of Sornieth had been startled, even appalled, when Baldwin transformed from a pearlcatcher to a bogsneak. Hope, on the other hand, had looked on in awe and admiration, and afterwards had danced around excitedly, questioning the alchemist and staring into his cauldron with a great deal of curiosity. She had spent quite a lot of her time at the Trading Post before, but now hardly ever leaves.

Hope prefers to study constantly, and usually has her muzzle in one book or another. She has her own stack of tomes at Baldwin's cauldron, and works with Kendra as clan alchemist. She is unfathomably enthusiastic, constantly experimenting on this or that, begging Baldwin to let her handle the cauldron, and trying to attain higher and higher levels of expertise in her craft.

Although she is undeniably eager to learn, Hope is an introverted sort of dragon, preferring to spend time with her Tatterwing Carcass, Omen, or to pore over her tomes until she's in knots trying to understand the complex learning. She avoids most of her clan, particularly hatchlings, whom she can't seem to understand, which terrifies her. The little ones seem drawn to her opalescent scales, and so she tries to deter them somewhat by wearing a scattered collection of apparel. Her oddball appearance doesn't only scare off hatchlings but her other clan members (except for BlackWidow, who asserts that Hope's outfits are "so cool!"). Hope doesn't mind, however, and rather likes her own attire.

Hope has high ambitions for herself. While she doesn't care whether she's the greatest alchemist in all of Sornieth, she holds herself to her own standards, striving every day to be better than she was before. She is a studious pupil and a great teacher to those who wish to learn from her (though those are admittedly few). Kendra admires her almost as much as she admires Baldwin, and the two are both shy but skilled, providing apparel, new familiars, and heaps of goo and ooze for their clan.
