MEDUSA
Dusk Guard: Warrior tough ~ fierce ~ resilient
In the first clan age, Clan Corpse-Flower attracted dragons who had shining lightning hearts nestled within hides of deep black, regardless of the element of their magic. One by one they joined and found each other, forming one of the many subgroups at outskirts of the clan's territory. In turn, after failing to find a home or welcome in the main clan, one by one they left, leaving the newly hatched Medusa to fend for herself.
Najas went to serve the Stormcatcher, in tribute to the clan that had given her a home and happiness for a time. Her mate Cyclonas chose to serve the oldest of the gods, the Eartshaker. Kobria grew tired of seeing her offspring sent to the Stormcatcher, and when her mate Stratiotes left for a new clan in Ice, and she as well moved to escape painful memories. Medusa was left alone, but her fledgling fighting skills and resilience in the face of her family's abandonment have found her a place in the main clan as a valued member of the Dusk Guard. She avoided the Outlander lairs as much as possible, for she wanted to forget her time there. However, she found a mate in Cedros, an Outlander who caught her eye. They produced many strong hatchlings until she tired of him, and the Clan exiled him to the Plaguemother.
"They say everyone's born a hero. But if you let it, life will push you over the line until you're the villain. Problem is, you don't always know that you've crossed that line."
- Jessica Jones
Botanically, Tillandsia caput-medusae is an epiphytic bromeliad commonly called 'octopus plant'. In Greek mythology, Medusa (/mɪˈdjuːzə, -sə/; Μέδουσα "guardian, protectress") was a monster, a Gorgon generally described as a winged human female with living venomous snakes in place of hair. Those who gazed upon her face would turn to stone. Medusa's visage has been adopted by many women as a symbol of female rage; she has sometimes also appeared as representing notions of scientific determinism and nihilism.
