Paikea is one of those few dragons who were there before Ilswyn. The elegant Skydancer apprenticed under one of those who left when the meteors fell. Quiet, kind, and sympathetic, she enjoys tending to those in the Sanctuary. As of late, she's begun to pioneer antidotes to various Serthis poisons, usually from the poisons themselves. Her section of the Sanctuary, tucked away into the rock, is stacked high with bottles and jars, and scattered with paper scraps.

Paikea's role as healer is key to the Sanctuary; by its very nature, a healer is more necessary than in most other clans. Many dragons come to their gates bloodied and bandaged, limping or ill. Paikea has yet to meet one she was unable to help.

When on rare occasion she has no work to do, she will leave the sheltered walls of the Sanctuary and wander the territory around it. This is, theoretically, to gather herbs, but is mostly for the sake of reveling in the magic-soaked air and watching, from a distance, mages from the Sanctuary and elsewhere work their spells.
  • She has a ludicrous sweet tooth, and thankful patients often bring her syrupy treats.
  • While spectacular with hatchlings while they are her patients, she is awful with them under any other circumstance.
  • She doesn't fly much, and thus when she does her flight paths tend to be clumsy and erratic.
  • Her natural psychic abilities aid her in her diagnoses, particularly when hatchlings are faking their symptoms to avoid their lessons. (Though, being a massive dork, she usually doesn't rat them out. After all, she was an apprentice once.)
