Biography

Very little known about the ancient citizens or its ruler, except that the Queen was a golden dragon with many eyes and harsh magic scarring, and is named Ohm. Old tablets and engravings in collapsed temples depict such a dragon, often atop a steep cliff with the sun rising behind her. She seems like a small, delicate dragon, yet effects of her magic fallout can be felt in several areas around Caballa. These areas are identified by dead trees and severe, unnatural rock outcroppings. These are the only places in which you may find evidence of Ohm and the culture of her world, mostly found on ancient stone tablets and murals. In one particular site, named “Ohm’s Refuge”, bits of fragile, crumbling cloth has been found, along with pieces of tarnished golden jewelry and shattered gemstones. This site is believed to be where Ohm resided at the end of her rule. Rocks found at these sites seem to be igneous in nature, suggesting that at the end of Ohm’s rule, magic within Caballa’s core sought to destroy evidence of Ohm and her people with the power of underground molten rock. What exactly caused the very planet to rebel against its Queen is unknown, but scholars speculate that she was abusing the power given to her as Queen in some way, most likely such that it was irreversibly damaging to the planet. Whenever Court archaeologists encounter one of these sites, it has been noted that they are overcome with a great sense of powerlessness, sometimes to the point of contracting an illness that causes them to feel “hollow”. Symptoms of this hollow feeling include exhaustion, muteness, shortness of breath, and dark circles under the eyes. While the symptoms can be simply reversed by removing the affected dragon from the site’s effect area, some journals describe that even once the dragon is removed, they express a yearning to return to the site. As such, archaeologists’ careers are often short-lived.
