Dear Sister:

Did you know there's so much mail coming and going to your new clan that mine has a dedicated courier? The family bonds between the Lair by the Sea and Cloudkeeper's clan at the Library are that tightly woven. I think that bodes well for us. I know you found the warmth of the Lightbringer's lands comforting, and while I want to travel--to see all the lands that were denied us while we languished, abandoned--I would be very unhappy if I didn't hear from you.

(I almost feel that I can hear you, sometimes, in my head. Is that strange?)

I have settled in here, though it took some time to really believe these people meant what they said when they said they wanted me. But I had to take their word for it when they brought me the gene scrolls. "If you want to re-do your look," one of them said. I have since learned her name is Thelxinoe, and she is an important and respected member of the clan. "Have you considered glimmer? You would look amazing in glimmer."

"And Jupiter!" said another--Thelxinoe's friend, Raia. (An imperial and a tundra, Leliel. Can you imagine it? They are an odd sight together. I had no idea dragons could be friends that way, much less across such different species.)

It felt presumptuous to accept such expensive magics. It felt rude to reject them. So I admit I accepted them, as much to prove that I was worth such things as out of any desire to be accommodating. And now I am... well. I am beautiful, sister! And very fancy. Drakes look at me in the markets when I go with the others on their visits there. (They insist: "You should get out more!" So I do, and... I enjoy it.)

Now I am thinking of what I can do to repay my new clan. I want to be useful, but I'm not sure how.

How are you finding Cloudkeeper's clan? I hope this letter finds you as well as I am.
