Born to two distinguished herbologists, Matcha was destined for a life full of flora. She grew up learning everything and anything about the plants around her. By the time she was an adolescent she could distinguish various foliage from it's design, smell, taste, and even texture. The downside of her childhood was that her family lived very deep in the Viridian Labrynth for their research, allowing her to see meet almost no other dragons.

When she was finally allowed out in the world, Matcha discovered just how poor her social skills really were. On top of that, she was completely face blind. Even though she was no longer isolated physically, she found herself socially isolated all the same. To add to her horror, she could no longer remember even what her own parents looked like.

Lost and alone, Matcha fell into despair.

Of course there are always vultures ready to pick the downhearted from the ashes. Matcha was found by a dragon who claimed to be from a clan called the Cult of the Faceless, a clan who sought out dragons with unique talents and "helped" them find a place in the world.

Instead he turned her into a killer.

Using her plant knowledge, Matcha was transformed into an assassin, using poisons as her weapon and learning to lace her words with a different kind of deadly essence. Of course, while she was useful in the creation of poison and luring others into her trap, the distribution became tricky. Without help, Matcha would administer the poison to the completely wrong person.

After a while, the Cult gave up on her and once more Matcha was left alone.

Despite her newly enhanced social skills, Matcha was still at a loss of how to use them sincerely. For a while she scraped by with odd jobs, always on the move since none of the faces were ever recognizable anyways.

...and then she started remembering them...

...the faces of those she killed along with the scents of the plants she used to do it; and every time she smelled those plants again, those faces would pop into her mind as clear as day until she even started seeing them on other dragons.

Her placidity turned to panic and though she hardly changed her patterns, there was a new sense of panic.

Then, one day, she stumbled upon a glowing pool while traversing the Tangled Wood. There she encountered a clan of friendly - if not odd- dragons. They convinced her to stay, and over time some even became a familiar comfort that she could open up to. Although she could never recall her faces, their presence, voices, and even scents became great comforts.

Using her past experience with brewing poisons and her knowledge of plants, Matcha became the tavern's bartender. Her charisma and preference for listening over speaking made her an easy match for the position... and this time, even her occasional blunder of mixing up drinks was never usually seen as a big deal, and on the rare occasions she did upset someone, she always had her new clanmates to look after her.
