Cipher

Cipher is a smug, confident, yet self destructive young demon. He once confessed to Amba that his realm was gone, burned to the ground and everyone in it dead. He told the guardian that sometimes he blamed himself. He said that sometimes he wished he'd been burned up into a charred corpse like everyone else he knew.

Sometimes, he wished he had died on that day.

He can vividly remember Amba simply curling around him and making a rumbling noise that was strangely comforting, and telling him all the things the demon needed to hear. Cipher won't admit it when he needs help, but Amba offers it so willingly that he can't not accept.

They don't talk about that time anymore, but occasionally Cipher finds his mind drifting into that thought. He knows he is Amba's charge, and maybe takes advantage of that a bit too much. He can't help it, knowing he has someone who'll do anything for him - like having a servant again, but this time far more loyal.

"......Amba?"

"What is it child?"

Cipher sighed and rolled onto his back, wings splayed out comically on either side of him. Next to the young demon, Amba sat regally, head held high and crimson eyes closed. He looks serene in the bright moonlight, so much that Cipher felt bad for interrupting the moment.

"Cipher, are you alright?"

"A-ah, yes, I'm fine. Just....oh, never mind. It was childish anyway."

Amba finally turned his head to stare down at his charge, who had rolled onto his side, away from the guardian. Ah, it appeared the usually confident demon was feeling a bit down. With a sigh, he lifted one bright wing, waiting patiently for his charge to move.

Cipher took the offer immediately, curling into his guard's warm side, resting his chin on the other dragon's arm.

"Mmmm......thank you."

"Anything for you, my child."

* While Cipher is based off of Bill Cipher, his relationship with Amba is completely separate, as is the dragon's actual personality. He will act like Bill at times, but this dragon is his own person. Also, yes, timeline for "Bill" would be right after the destruction of his realm. :)
