Origins
A powerful Shade abomination once haunted the Clan, destroying homes and injuring many. A powerful mage, Rosteel was tasked with ending the threat. What followed was a long, hard battle between Shade and dragon, ending in Rosteel's victory. Rather than destroying the remnant of the Shade, however, the Imperial instead bound it to the body of a hatchling in hopes of preserving its strength for his own purposes. And so Asra was created. Asra was bound to Rosteel by both magic and emotional ties; he was mentally only a hatchling even with his memories of life as a Shade and desperately needed someone to teach him how to care for himself. As he grew older, however, Asra severed the magic that compelled him to obey the mage and went his own way. He seeks to hone his own magic to a level that is greater than what his 'creator' possesses. |
Personality
At times it appears as though Asra has no mind of his own, simply drifting around the Clan's territory, more dragon-shaped fog than living, thinking being. Other times, however, Asra's uncanny intellect and powerful magical abilities are clearly presented for all to see. The other residents of Hunter's Glen are wary of him in both states. When he is not studying, he can be seen spending time with his son, or visiting his lover, Stylus. Some visitors are immediately hostile to Asra, sensing the presence of the Shade in him, but the rest of his Clan are quick to jump to his aid should he be attacked. |

Familiar
A hungry presence at the edge of Asra's vision even when his form was only that of a young dragonet. Attracted by the unusual aura of the former Shade abomination, they quickly became bonded to each other. Some dragons view Hati's presence at Asra's side as an omen of bad things to come. While there are certainly friendlier familiars out there, Hati is an ever-watchful companion, more than willing to lay down its own life for Asra's. |
