The end of the civil war within her clan left Lunaris as the new matriarch, chosen for her skill in reading the signs given to her from the sky above her. A wise and merciful seer, she did not outright exile Amaranth and her mate from the clan, to her fellow members' dismay.
"They still belong," Lunaris reasoned to the others, resting in front of wounded leader and mate. "We do not yet have others with the same skills as they do, and the stars have yeiled no ill omen. They shall stay. Ginseng, when we make our way to the land given to us by the Mother, you shall clear out one of the abandoned lairs for these two."
The clan then made the long trek from the rotting wasteland of the Plaguebringer to the gentle slopes of the Lightweaver, where vegetation is lush and the sun can once again warm the scales of the clan.
Now, the main lair no longer billows out smoke, nor does the smell of sulfur and berries waft from its maw. Instead, delicate silks line the entrance, and the thick smell of incense carries throughout the inside of the lair.
