Biography
Aygül
The Moon Rose
"As you wish, Mother dear."
The Moon Rose
"As you wish, Mother dear."
"My dearest child." said the Moon, her soft tone rang like chimes in her ears "open your eyes."
The first thing she saw was darkness. Then, one by one, the Stars called for her, all chanting in happines for their new sister. And everything was light: uncountable lights, all around her, caressed her from so far away, welcoming her to new life. "Aygül." the sound of her name filled her with a comfortable warmth. "Welcome to the world, my dear." "Mother." she whispered with soft voice. And immediately, she felt stronger, and her light shone brighter. "I live for you, I am part of you. What is the purpose you wish me to fullfill?" The Moon caressed her gently, rocking her in her love. "Child of mine, I have chosen for you the destiny I shall never have. Ever have I wanted to live on the Earth, taste the frailty and the beauty of mortality. Through you, my dear, I shall fulfill my whish." Aygül listened carefully. Her purpose, her reason to live. "A mortal dwells below us, who wishes for a companion. You were born to be that companion. Fear not, my child, he shall treat you well and devote himself to you, as you both shall devote to me." Aygül nodded, for nothing she wished more than her Mother's happiness. The Moon let go of her, and she started falling down, down, down towards Earth. And never had her light shone brighter; she closed tears behind her eyes, knowing that never she would shine again, and down, down, down she fell. When she awoke before her a dragon looked to her face with so much love and happiness. Her body, at first white of purest light, stopped glowing; and the Moon looked down to her and promised she would always remember her, as much as Aygül would remember who her Mother was: she carved petals on her skin, ever gentle and painless, for she was now frail and beautiful, and her wings because alike those f the insects that adore the light so much that they throw themselves to death. And on her belly shone remainings of her past self. Her pure soul solidified in a bright pearl. And like that, she was mortal. "Come, my love" said her new companion, beckoning her to get up "you must be tired. Come and rest with me. Our new life begins." Aygül stood, and stretched her wings, admiring her new form, and followed him to her new home. |
