The Guardian had begun to lose hope of finding a charge, and she had begun to believe that she would forever be only half a dragon. But then Quin's Search led her to find this clan - and its leader. She knew as soon as she saw the teal dragon that the brave, determined leader of this clan would be her charge, and she would defend her ferociously. And soon, Quin found herself falling in love with the fiery Plague dragon. Valkin would not only be her charge, but she would also be her mate. There was only one problem - that fact that Valkin wouldn't allow Quin to defend her! It drives Quin crazy how stubborn Valkin is, heading straight to the front lines of any enemy attack and risking her life time and time again to protect her clan and her clanmates. Still, Quin can't help but admire the ferocity and the strength of her mate, and she knows every day that she chose perfectly - in both a mate and a charge.
