zBB98Ur.gif The dragon above is simply a placeholder for Solstice. In truth, Solstice is a sphinx, a rare and elusive race, closely related to manticores, but far more secluded and secretive. Together with her Manticore mate Nebula, Solstice founded the city of Lune, a beastclan-oriented city where the Starwood Strand brushes up against the Southern Icefield.

Both Solstice and Nebula practice an ancient and volatile form of Arcane magic. One that warps and changes its user overtime. While one of the benefits of this magic is its ability to prolong age, it comes at a heavy price. Those who tap into this magical resource must trade some aspect of their being, and the magic slowly dissolves the user into a wild and untouchable chunk of time and space. Solstice willingly gave up her sight for the use of this magic, and the toll of its use now spreads to her mane and antlers.

Because she is blind, Solstice has a Wispwillow guide that she uses as a seeing eye when she’s not in familiar territory.
Unlike the rest of her subjects, her and her mate are almost never seen by outside eyes. Although Solstice and Nebula are the founders of Lune, the city has been around for hundreds of years, and they prefer to have more mortal races do the politics for them. Only stepping out of their chambers when Lune is in immanent danger, or a dragon has successfully breached the city's many magical wards and barriers.
