Of all their children, Stefano is a rather special case within the "business". Out of all the Zephyr Dancers born in this clan, he is the only one to ever stay. Eighth born son of Wardance and Boreas, there was nothing special about him at all. In fact, he sat in the auction house just like every one of his many brothers and sisters did before him. But unlike all the others, Stefano had found out a little too much about his family. He was born right before The Most Horrid of days, a tragic event set off by a not-so-petty theft preformed by Orchestina and Tempestfang, both member's of his parent's "business". By the time news arrived that an allied clan of dragons on the war path was coming their way and it was all the two aforementioned dragons' fault, it was almost impossible for the panicking clan to keep it a secret from the hatchling Stefano. After much turmoil, those terrible times passed but the damage to the young dragon's psyche had already been done. He ran away from the auction house countless times, always returning back to the clan and demanding he be allowed to stay. Around the thirtieth try, his parents finally gave up and decided that such a hopelessly persistent dragon might be of some use to their dealings. Stefano, still nameless at the time, was beyond overjoyed and was given his name by the more kindhearted Aginity who would later become his sort of adopted mother, seeing as his own was not exactly one for compassion. The cause already lost, the zephyr dancers explained to Stefano what exactly they did for a living and they set about finding him his position. Through a rather ironic series of events, he was put in charge of selling the family's offspring, paired with keeping the young ones ignorant of their heritage (much unlike himself).

Stefano himself is a rather cheery dragon, a talkative character to any that decide to approach him. His parents are rather confused about the way he dresses and why he insists on talking in a mafia-sounding accent. Somewhere along the way he picked up that black fedora of his and it's been history ever since. He's kind to the hatchlings while they're in his care and despite endless stern looks from his mother Wardance, he even plays with them and teaches them to read and write if there's time before they're sold. Sephano actually quite enjoyed his job until he discovered the horrible counter side that came with it. Although he was in-charge of selling the hatchlings, and he did tend to do a pretty damn good job too, it was also his responsibility to "deal" with dragons that got too old. It had been determined by the members of the "business" way back that if any hatchling were to reach a month of age and still not have sold, they are to be considered a liability and thus exterminated. And as fate my have it, that job landed right on Stefano's unsuspecting shoulders.

The first was a female by the name of Elizabeth, the 12th born child of Aginity and Hyracide. She was a gentle dragon of rational mind, one born only a few weeks before Stefano. By the time he was assigned his position, Elizabeth was already far over the age limit, nearly two months old. She's been allowed to live that long because of the calamity of the Most Horrid of Days being a higher priority. The fateful day came however, when the top four of the business pulled Stefano aside and spelled out what he had to do. Outrage and dread was all he felt. This part of the job had never once been mentioned to him. To make matters worse, Elizabeth was like an older sister to him, someone he looked up to and had spent many a night chatting with. Not sure how else to do it, he confronted her directly and explained what he was being forced to do. "Elizabeth, I..." "Stefano, it's alright. I knew this day was coming eventually. I just wished that you wouldn't be the one forced to do it...Come now, lets just get this over with quickly..." The still young dragon bowed her head before him, waiting for the piercing blow that would end her. Stefano raised the sword he'd been gifted by his mother and did the job quickly, in hopes she wouldn't feel any pain. Nothing was said to him by anyone for many days to come, save for the clan's gravedigger Catacomb who assured him that Elizabeth held no grudge against him. This event changed Stefano however, bringing a darkness upon his heart that could never be shaken. He still remained as cheerful as before when speaking to others, but those that know him best see the broken dragon that he is inside.
