Biography

"Where did I put it?" Celestina muttered, nosing through piles and piles of research notes. Her goggles sat atop her head and her pathfinder's hat lay upside down on the floor.

Malec came wandering in, looking at his mate dash frantically here and there looking for "it'.

Celestina started to panic. "Where is it?" She all but shrieked, a stack of yellowing papers knocked to the ground as her wing slammed into them.

Malec winced. "Where is what?" He asked, slightly concerned. For an explorer and researcher like Cele, losing some of her notes was like losing a hatchling.

Celestina looked over at her mate, eyes wide and panicked. "My research notes for the Starfall Isles! I had a whole journal all about the place, the dragons that live there, their customs, as well as all about the Arcanist!" She turned around and continued her frantic search.

Malec blinked. "Oh. What do you need them for?" He sat down on the ground. Celestina scoffed. Of course he wouldn't help.

She pawed through a stack of journals that held notes on clans from the Windswept Plateau. On the top was the journal about Chasty's clan. Well, more like a diary with daily events as well as important events and holidays written down in it. Celestina carefully put that to the side before answering Malec. It was about where she was born, after all.

"Silvana and Cayo are moving their whole clan to the Starfall Isles. Silvana asked me if I had any helpful notes on where they were moving to, and I said yes, because I do, but I can't find it anywhere!" She groaned in frustration and plopped down on the floor next to Malec. She nuzzled into Malec's neck and brushed her wings with his.

The full reality of what Celestina had just said seemed to finally sink in for Malec. He straightened up and Celestina scowled, already missing using his neck as a pillow. "Hold on. They're moving? To the Starfall Isles, no less! Congratulations!" He said enthusiastically, his wings fluttering a bit.

Celestina rolled her eyes. "Yes, to the Focal Point of the Isles, specifically. And don't congratulate me, Al. Go send them a letter with your well wishing."

Malec nodded. "I will. But later. I want to sit here with you right now." He gave her a crooked grin, and Celestina couldn't help but smile back.

"Alright." She nodded and they stayed there in companionable silence for a while.

Malec spoke up suddenly. "You'll find it, you know. Don't worry, you won't let Silvana down, Cele." He curled his tail around hers; a sign of reassurance.

Celestina sighed, but didn't say anything. Malec adjusted his position on the floor--there was something digging uncomfortably into his side. He dug it out with his back legs. It was a journal. Celestina caught a flash of bright magenta lettering on the cover before he tossed it on top of another pile.

Celestina got up so fast, yet another pile of notes went toppling over. But she didn't care at the moment. "Hold on! Malec, get me the journal you just tossed. And future warning--don't toss my stuff, especially my notes." She said sternly.

Malec frowned a bit. "Alright, alright, I won't." Sighing, he got up from his comfortable position and got Celestina the journal with the bright magenta lettering. He scowled. What was so important about this book anyway? He glanced down to read the title she had written and---

"Oh," he said meekly. He looked up at Celestina sheepishly.

Celestina tapped a paw impatiently. "Let me see!" Was this the journal she thought it was? Because if so, she was going to kill Malec--

Celestina saw the title and growled. Malec ducked his head looking very scared. Good, he should be.

"I have been looking for this journal, and you've been sitting on it this whole time?" She shrieked.

"Why do I--hey come back here!" She yelled at Malec as he ran away from her.

She scoffed and took flight. Did he really think she would let him get away? She smirked slightly.

Oh, it's on, Al.
