Biography

Tilly SweetBlossom
Horticulturist

Many say Tilly moved to the wrong part of Sornieth. Born a Nature Dragon, she loves flora, fauna and anything about nature. Tilly is warm, sunny and rarely is seen without a smile on her face. However, many in her birth clan believed she was ‘too odd’ and didn’t take the time to get to know her. When Tilly began coming home with strange bruises and scrapes on her body and wings, her parents knew something had to be done. Sadly, Tilly’s clan leader was a strong believer in ‘only the strongest survive’ so the family of dragons were on their own. The very next day, Tilly returned home early with a long deep gash along her back. For her parents, this was the final straw. They gathered up everything they could sell and wrote a letter to Tilly’s Aunt in the Ice Land. Paying a kind merchant to ferry their precious daughter across all Sornieth, Tilly’s parents said goodbye to their only child, promising to follow her out there as soon as they could accumulate enough money for the trip.
The merchant was true to his word. He took good care of Tilly along the way and even gave her a rare book on special plants of the Ice Lands. Tilly presented herself before the King and Queen, a custom and rule for anyone seeking shelter in their clan, even for one night. After hearing her story, Elsa embraced the small Fae and welcomed her and when they arrived offered her welcome to Tilly’s parents. Crispin was sent to fetch Tilly’s Aunt, who was surprised to see her. Apparently, the Nature Clan’s messenger wasn’t as good as Crispin.
Tilly settled into her new home quickly and her smile never wavered. While some still found it odd, Tilly made more friends in her first day than she’d ever had in her whole life back in her Birth Clan. She soon got to work and made a name for herself as the leading scientist in Ice Botany and Entomology. Over the years, Tilly wrote multiple volumes on the subject, which helped increase plant food yields by at least three times. She has received many awards across Sornieth for her work, but the fame hasn’t changed her one bit.
Tilly wrote to her parents many times over the years, telling them of her new life and hoping they would join her soon. They wrote back only once. They told her how proud of her they were and that they were making the final preparations to begin their journey towards the Ice Lands. They wrote that they couldn’t wait to hold their most precious daughter in their claws and wings once again. That letter would be the last time she’d hear from her parents. A few months later, Tilly was brought before the King and Queen who informer her of the terrible news. Her parent’s bodies were found by an Earth Flight scouting troop not far from a Beast Clan campsite. It was the one time in her long full life that Tilly’s smile fell. Her parent’s bodies were transferred to An Tir and burned, as was the custom since the earth was too tough most of the year for a burial.
In Crispin, Tilly found the love, support and just enough grounding to keep her safe. They had many clutches and raised many children.
“Hearing my children’s laughter is the best sound in the world to me.”
