Aroha

aroha goes by he/him pronouns. he's also in a relationship with amatan, who he cares about very much.

he likes to ride around on amatan's shoulders, between his wings.

he's also kind of the herbalist guy for the clan, though caliga helps out sometimes. he tends to the gardens, where he tolerates no weeds. he loves dandelions and whatnot just not where they should not be. he is well liked by his clanmates, but he has few close friends. it’s a combination of his introversion and the way he comes off inexplicably intimidating to dragons who don’t know him.

he loves his puppy (actually not.. a puppy.. but do not tell him that it's useless. he is well aware, still calls the beast a pup) and it can often be found trailing his footsteps. he loves it!! it is the best pup!!! he will fight you (but not really, he’d much rather not) for the title of owner of the cutest and best pup because he is it do not try to claim his title.

he tends to be shy and soft spoken, but he’s more than content with his place in the clan. he doesn't talk much to dragons he doesn't know well. he doesn't like loud noises or loud dragons, but he enjoys the oddly friendly ones this clan seems to attract. he doesn’t do well with criticism or conflict, so he often doesn’t get along well with palustris. pity that palustris loves the gardens as much as aroha does, and so much as he’d like to, aroha has trouble avoiding him. luckily they’ve reached an unspoken agreement to just not talk to each other. best for all parties.

aroha is uncomfortable with conflict for two reasons. the first, he does not like himself when he gets angry. he gets cruel and vindictive, and says things he can’t even claim he doesn’t mean. he holds grudges. he doesn’t get angry particularly easily, but when he does, he remembers. he has a long list of complaints against palustris.

the second, because he doesn’t like feeling afraid. his anxiety is a different, familiar thing, but the fear he feels when someone is upset is vivid and alive. he feels it in his spine and it makes him want to find somewhere small and dark to hide and not come out until it’s long over. but often that is not an option, so he goes and sits with amatan, away from the raised voices. he trusts amatan.
