Kyrie is technically a member of Clan Ironkite, though she spends much of her time away on "trading voyages." To most of the more polite dragons of her clan, Kyrie is a merchant who takes Clan Ironkite goods and disappears for months to trade them across Sornieth. These voyages are usually very profitable; her ship returns to the Ashfall Waste port brimming with the spoils of her travels. Those that know Kyrie better are aware that she's not what she seems. Her trades are seldom fair and often times she and her crew commandeer other merchant ships and relieve them of their goods and currency. There are those in Clan Ironkite that suspect her to be a less-than-savory character, but her voyages are so lucrative no questions are asked. Where's My Ship wrote:
Captain Kyrie is known for her ability to make any ship her own. Barrin, her Guardian and first-mate, is the only other dragon in Clan Ironkite who is actually a member of her crew. With Barrin's help she enlists a new crew for each voyage. Only the best get invited back to serve on the next ship she chooses and each crewmember is screened carefully before being allowed aboard.

Though her job involves a degree of combat, usually Kyrie leaves physical altercations to be handled by her more-than-capable crew members. However, on one voyage Kyrie found herself in the middle of the biggest fish story ever: a storm caused her ship to capsize and she found herself face-to-face with a Mantarune.
This Mantarune is now Gossamer's familiar. It is her favorite gift from her boastful pirate friend. Kyrie enjoys telling this story with gusto, keeping in mind to exaggerate the size of the mantarune when Gossamer isn't around to unintentionally prove her wrong. |
