Vespera came into Ibiza and Aldyth's life in a unique way. It began when Aldyth took a trip to the Southern Icefields for research. Aldyth had come across what he believed to be a large, beautiful blueish-white gem, buried in the snow all on it's own. He knew Ibiza was a jewelcrafter and had an eye for things like that, so he brought it home to him as a gift. It was a sweet gesture, and Ibiza loved the "gem". It was unlike anything he'd ever seen before, and he was ecstatic to add it to his collection. Aldyth had to leave almost immediately after returning to make a trip back home to the Starfall Isles. They thought nothing of it of course, and said their goodbyes.

Everything was fine until Aldyth received a short, panicked letter. It read something along the lines of,
"Gem was not a gem, we have a small surprise. Please come home soon, I need help."
This of course, worried Aldyth greatly and he made a speedy trip home. Upon arrival, He opened the door to reveal his Ibiza, curled on the floor with an exhausted expression, cradling a small, orange, sleeping hatching. A tired smile crossed Ibiza's face as he looked up and he whispered, "We're fathers."

Ibiza is a kind and talented dragon, providing beauty and clothing for his clanmates and any other who asks. He loves his son with every fiber of his being, doing everything for him. He also loves Aldyth, even if they don't see each other as often as he'd like.
He writes him whenever he can, keeping him updated on the shenanigans that ensue in his clan.
He is always willing to provide advice, and he never resorts to anger or violence to solve problems. A soft voice and a gentle personality go way farther, in his humble opinion.

The choker he wears around his neck is a fragment of Vespera's eggshell. Aldyth and Vespera also have a necklace with a shard, because Ibiza is sentimental and artsy. That, and it holds fond memories for them all.

UPDATE 5/8/21
It has been a few years since Ibiza has last heard from Aldyth.
Being used to him travelling for work and research, his absence hadn't seemed strange in the beginning. After a few weeks without a letter returned, Ibiza began to worry and suspect something terrible had happened. Their son, Vespera, set out to try and gather where his father had gone. Ibiza was sick with worry for several weeks after his son left, missing his partner and his only child.

Eventually, Vespera returned home. Ibiza was relieved and filled with joy for a brief moment, until he saw his son's heartbroken expression.
Aldyth had gone missing and no one could find him.
This news shattered Ibiza's heart. He tried to hold it together in front of Vespera, but grief overwhelmed them both. The clung to each other for comfort as they began to piece each other together, trying to figure out how to go from here.

Ibiza hasn't given up hope of his partner returning, regardless of everyone trying to help him cope with loss. He dedicates even more time to his son now, and in moments that he's alone, he distracts himself with his tailoring or jewelry making, taking on as many jobs as he can to fill in the spaces of time.
