  Born to a mysterious and aloof Ice clan, Virgick was born extremely weak. Deemed too ill to survive infancy, he was abandoned to the frozen tundra, an inevitable sacrifice to the wildlife, or the Icewarden himself. A passing harpy clan took pity on the small tundra, and brought him back to their roost to nurse him back to health. Now a scout and emissary for his harpy clan, he casts a considerably larger silhouette than they do in the heavy snows in which they hunt, but he is just as silent and just as deadly. He has learned to carry and wield spears as well as any harpy beastmaster, and has let his claws grow long and curved like his clan brethren, able to catch and smash prey deftly while in flight. However, for all of his love for his harpy family, Virgick longs for the company of dragonkind, and often stalks hunting groups in order to learn about their ways and pick up trinkets that they might dispose of.

He was eventually sent to live with clan Sunskulls, after much deliberation by his harpy clan; they had a trade agreement with another harpy clan in Dragonhome, and needed to secure transport through Plague territory. He was a "good will" trade between the harpy clan and Sunskulls. Although he was reluctant to go, he was given a mission: to spy on the dragon clan and report their habits and weaknesses, and to prepare for an impending attack.
