While Indomitas works towards the cure that must be found, Atreus takes care of those who remain and those newly joined, consoling them even as he cannot console himself. There is the fear of joining the sleepers; there is an equal fear that the sleep will catch them, however far they run. So the old clan stays, and so Atreus holds their hearts steady, and so the days pass.
The little princeling Atreus had been would not recognise him now. Atreus can only hope that long-lost child would be proud of him now. (He is. He is dreambound, memories spun free, but he is.)
