Being an exiled leader from a barbaric clan, Calver's ways are rash and bold. He functions as one of the Maverick's elders due to his militarized attitude, and is often consulted when the clan is attacked. Calver also takes the role of father and charge for Etta, his charge and adoptive daughter

Calver came to the Mavericks due to him losing his title as warrior king in his past clan. Badly wounded and starved from his battle for throne, he had no one else to turn to for help besides the loyal Etta and the welcoming Drab. Greatly distraught and ashamed of his loss of rule and respect from his clan, Calver and Etta were quickly taken in by the Mavericks. Calver slowly began to heal, emotionally and physically thanks to the eagerness to help from the misfit gang of dragons surrounding him.

Though tough and sometimes harsh, Calver expresses his concern and protectiveness throughout the clan. Offering a shielding wing to the wounded and scared, putting up a good fight to defend the defenseless, and being there to give stern suggestions when a dragon is unsure; Calver acts as a strong father figure for the Mavericks.
