Bang! Bang! Bang!

War drums going off in my head...

"Did you hear?"
"Who are they?"
"What are they?"
"We've known about them for a long time!"
"No, they're different..."

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Shell bombs... My precious children... War...

"NACRE! NACRE! COME OUT!" Someone is pounding on my home; my home being a colossal, abandoned oyster shell.

"WHAT!?!?!" I roar. "WHO WAKES ME FROM MY SLUMBER!?!?!"

"It's me! Murex! It's important! You must come out!"

"What is more important than my eternal grieving!" I growl from inside my oyster.
"Peace." This piques my interest.

A long time ago... when I was still young... A war broke out in the Deep... Some Maren wanted more power... Some Undertides wanted more power... Some equally wanted more power and ability to spread their beliefs... A civil war exploded... And my dear children were stuck in the middle of it.

I was part of the peace-keeping council and helped fix the Deep after the war ended but no one could fix the hole in my heart. So, I decided to go into a hibernation. Sleep away my nightmares and grief. But my dear friend Murex always knows how to wake me up and keep me up.

I reluctantly pry open my shell and poke my head out.

"What is this about peace?"
"We have finally made contact with other Dragonkind and Maren again. We are having peace talks and many would like you to help talk it out."
I think about that for a few seconds. I like making and ensuring peace. Besides, this sounds interesting... I'm also slightly surprised that my fellows still remember I exist but I suppose I left a strong, lasting impression on people after the war ended. I assume it was a good impression if they want me to be part of the peace talks.
"Alright."

The peace talks are worked out and somehow, I end up living with a Shadow clan. I'm fine with this. I think the point is for them to get used to us and for us to get used to them. I'm happy with this clan. I like to help Electra care for the hatchlings and I'm considering joining Copper's Order of the Knights.
