Biography
Asteria - daughter of titans, and mother of the goddess Hecate, Asteria is the goddess of nocturnal oracles and falling stars. She sought to escape Zeus' affections by turning herself into a quail and throwing herself into the Aegean Sea, becoming an island.
Once, she was one of the brightest and most powerful mages, and in an effort to turn back a surge of fighters and protect a range of lairs and nests, she spent all her magical power in one burst. In doing so, she burned herself out and is no longer able to perform magic. Injured as she was in the battle, she was given an opportunity to retire from active service in the flight's ranks. Now she spends her time in her lair, quiet and often absorbed in thought. Others hold her in deepest respect, many of the older dragons leaving her to her own devices while the youngest watch her in awe and occasionally creep into her lair to spend time in her presence. Only the foolhardy ask her for glorious tales of the fighting.
One of her more consistent companions, and one of the few able to make her smile and laugh, is the little fae goddess of the laughing darkness, Drendari.
