Bright like the Light, sneaky like the Shadows

Ori might have the eyes of a Light dragon, but make no mistake, he was born to a Shadow clan, and his true elemental alignment is clear to those who know him. His mother was a Light Imperial, and remains loyal to the Lightkeeper. His father is a Wind diplomat, and also remains loyal to the Windsinger. Ori is loyal to nobody but himself. He learned philosophy and writing from his mother, while his father taught him about diplomacy. He learned his cunning and trickery from the Tangled Wood herself. He was born with a hunger not for food, but for power, and we will do anything to seize power. Soon, his parents grew concerned with Ori. He quickly turned into a cruel and ambitious dragon, so they sent him away to an allied Light clan, hoping that maybe they would fix his attitude. His new clan did change his attitude, but maybe not in the way his parents had hoped. Instead of being overtly power-hungry, Ori learned how to hide his desires and slowly and secretly get what he wanted. Unluckily for him, his new clan picked up on this rather quickly, and once again he was sent to a different clan to help fix his ruthlessness. This time, the clan he was to be sent to was a small and peaceful Fire clan, that was not influential or powerful by anyone's standards. He could try as hard as he wanted, but he would never gain power like he wanted in the Clan of Milk and Honey.

He hated it. He hated the clan, he hated his clanmates, and most of all, he hated that stupid Guardian that didn't even deserve to be called a leader. He deserved that power, he wanted that power! But he could never have it. Instead, he sulked. He refused to help in the fields or go fishing, he wouldn't help cook or clean, he just sat all day in his tent, freeloading off of all the other dragons who worked. Despite her forgiving attitude, Mellona eventually had enough of the ungrateful Nocturne, and gave Katsura the task to fix his attitude once and for all. The clan had always believed in voluntary participation, nobody was forced to do anything, and everyone chose to specialize in what they wanted to do. This worked because all the dragons within the clan chose to be there. Every member of the clan sincerely wanted to help the clan with all of their heart. Ori didn't. So, for the first time in the clan's short history, a dragon was forced to work. Katsura made him work under every dragon she could find, but ever job he was force to do he sabotaged. He purposefully scared away the chickens and crushed their eggs, he ripped up the vegetables he was supposed to pick, and he burned anything he was supposed to cook. Out of any other options, Katsura decided to make him her own apprentice. She was strict and demanding, and she exuded power. For the first time in his life, Ori did what he was told and became the clan's assistant diplomat. His desire for power is still there, but it is kept in check by Katsura's strict guidance. Like his father, Ori has a knack for negotiation and diplomacy, and even his cunning nature is a benefit in certain situations. Ori still remains separate from the clan as a whole, choosing to eat within his tent instead of at the dining hall, and he refuses to help in the fields at all, but Katsura hopes that with time, Ori will grow to be a full member of the Clan of Milk and Honey.
