Here is what history has to say: dragonkind, ever arrogant, ever foolish, decimated the world as they fought for their eleven elemental gods. They made the land bitter. They decimated the Beastclans. They tore their own world asunder. The Beastclans fought back - valiantly, quietly - and could never win. How could they? They are no match for the dragons, who can call down the elements with a roar.
But, perhaps all the Beastclans had to do was wait.
From the Plaguebringer's domain came rot, as that is the element of such a goddess. A sickness swept over Sornieth. It struck the dragons first, snapping up the young and the elderly, before it infested the able bodied. And bodies fell - as the Beastclans watched. Dragonkind, which once stood so proud!
As any sickness goes, not all are claimed. Some shook it off, some infected with a less deadly mutation that lent them immunity from the brunt of the disease. But the damage was irreparable, and dragon society was broken.
Sensing their opportunity, the Beastclans quickly took over...

Years pass. Kingdoms, Beastclan kingdoms, rise and fall. Dragons with enough strength, or enough wit, or those who band together, are able to build kingdoms themselves. Pure dragon kingdoms are rare, one nested in the center of the Viridian Labyrinth and another in the Southern Icefield. A dragon on the throne in a Beastclan territory is also rare, but it occurs.
In fair Thoseä, where we lay our scene, is one such kingdom. For years now has a selfish queen ruled - mad, irrational - and continues to rule...
