-WIP- Throughout Katsu's life, he always aspired to become a fighter. One who would battle monsters and other frightful beasts in return for respect and hefty amounts of gold. Unfortunately, he didn't realized that he was different. No, not special, just... different. The reason? He has the ability to detach his soul from his body. He loved the thrill of it at first, he could go anywhere, do anything, and scare anyone! Though, as a young hatchling, he never understood why the others in his Clan cast accusing glares at him, but that didn't matter then. Katsu had an ability, and he was proud of it! One eerily calm day on the Zephyr Steppes, he decided to go out hunting. It couldn't be too hard, right? Maybe his parents wouldn't mind this time - it was just one creature. On his way to the deeper parts of the bamboo forests, he decided to travel by his soul instead - it was much faster, and he didn't get tired. Of course, the longer he looked for something to hunt, the more frightened he became. What if he couldn't go back in this body? What if he couldn't find it?! Worries ___ his mind, so much so that he started sprinting. It was days before he found his body again. When he went back into it, Katsu tried his best to go back to his home. However, instead of the welcome home party he expected, he saw something else. As he arrived, his parents gazed at him with intense feelings of disgust and anger, but also sadness and something else he couldn't recognize. Katsu's parents brought him to a secluded area further in the Bamboo forest. His mother, Boo, hugged him tightly as his father spoke to him about the truth. The family curse - brought upon them by a wicked mage, passed onto all of their offspring. Katsu didn't think of it as a curse when he gained it, but what happened earlier made it feel like it was. His parents informed him that if he had offspring as well, they would be cursed as well for generations to come. It was disappointing at first, but he decided it was for the best if he had none. From that day on, he took his curse more seriously, and started to develop a deep fear for it. He couldn't become a fighter - the others mocked him and rolled their eyes whenever he suggested it. "Look, I know you've got powers 'n all that, but really? That's the most foolish idea I've ever heard from you, and that's sayin' somethin'." "Aww, you're so adorable, but there's no way you could be a fighter - you could get killed...!" "A fighter? Pfft, really? You're more like a solider by the way you act!"
