Morrigan

Witch | Potionmaker | Mage | Herbalist

firemidsmall.png

Morrigan is a witch. Brewing magic potions is her specialty and her passion. She spends most of her time experimenting with fire magic, herbs, and various other (sometimes very unappetizing) ingredients for her potions, which has led to some remarkably effective potions, and also to no one wanting to live next to her anymore, due to the constant risk of odious smells and fiery explosions. Being naturally immune against the heat of her fiery element and with the scales on her paws and face so black that soot doesn't show, Morrigan doesn't care. Being a strong-willed dragon with a fiery temper, she prefers being on her own while working. Her greatest joy in life is being successful at creating yet another ingenious potion, especially if she manages to sneak some of it into her mate's meal.

Morrigan's mate is Samhain, the alchemist, who (in her opinion) is far too serious for his own good and considers his own craft to be infallible science, while being very sceptical about his mate's "dubious" (his words) experiments. Being a self-confident dragon who is quite sure of her own abilities, Morrigan doesn't mind his scepticism and critical remarks, but she does very much enjoy proving the efficiency of her potions by using them on Samhain. In turn, he has become rather fond of testing his alchemy on her. The two of them tend to be locked in a constant battle of wills and their natural competitiveness has driven them to become masters of their respectice crafts (and tends to drive everyone else around them crazy). All dragons of the clan know to get out of the way the moment Morrigan and Samhain start challenging each other to another "friendly competition". Their verbal duels tend to be very loud and end in furious cooking, brewing, and calculating, which usually leads to either one or both of them getting bewitched or transformed, or their rooms needing to be renovated due to magical or chemical explosions.

Despite their competitiveness and and constant battle of wills, Morrigan and Samhain are rather fond of each other and there's nothing they enjoy more than constantly trying to outdo each other. Morrigan loves the sparks flying between them all the time, and tends to get bored and a bit moody when Samhain isn't around for a while. Being content with her own and her mate's company, Morrigan doesn't have many close friends. She likes talking about herbs with Elessar, admires some of the explosions Amadeo can cause with his cooking, and occasionally spends time with Nimue who is probably the one dragon she would call a friend. Nimue is fascinated by Morrigan's witchery and Morrigan feels very lucky to have someone who can bring her rare herbs and ingredients from far-away, dark places, freeing her to spend more time on potion-making instead of having to run around looking for herbs.
