Liza likes to pretend things don't bother her, but really, she get lonely very easily. She also has very little self-esteem and doesn't view herself very highly.
Being much more subdued in colour than the rest of the dragons in the lair, her self image has never been the greatest and when Quinx started courting Izra, Liza took it very hard. Hatched on the same day, the two of them had always been inseparable ever since arriving in the lair. She loved him. And always held onto the secret hope that one day their relationship would blossom into more. Yes, he found Izra attractive, but so did everyone else, eventually he'd see how great she and he would be together. They practically spent all the time with each other anyway!
But Izra and Quinx did come together. Liza resigned herself to never finding love and never letting Quinx know about her feelings. So they went on being friends.
And then Zavory came into the lair. He came in grinning, with bright eyes and said to her 'I'd bet you'll be even prettier when you smile'.
It took less than a week. He'd tripped over a tree root chasing after her, trying to invite her to eat with him. She'd laughed. He'd shouted. "I knew it! Beautiful!" She'd blushed.
He was rugged and handsome. He was warm and kind.
He was hers. And his never ending attempts to make her smile are very amusing. Her smiles are his alone.
