Biography
To any wandering stranger, the twisted landscape of the Arcane's native plane was a confusing mess of ever changing spires, depressions in the ground catching feet as if alive. To any wandering stranger, that hag-stone peak was nothing more than an obelisk with far too many holes. But to Dyna, the Oldest Witch of the Clan, master stargazer and divination user? Ah, that would be home sweet home.
Nestled among creeping vines and shadowed brambles, this spike of stone jutted from the ground nearly straight up, filled with holes like swiss cheese and hollow on the inside. The tunnels through the rock left shelves inside; three large ones in total, like the floors of an ant's den. Each was a section of Dyna's workshop and home.
The lowest floor was practical. Scratched out divets in the walls held herbs dried outside, soil with tiny growing plants, tenderly handed so not a claw-scratch damaged their leaves and petals, and sparkling gemstones, valuable or not. The clutter could only ever be navigated by the witch herself, and her organization system only recorded in her mind. The middle of this floor was a massive nest of scavenged fabrics, larges leaves, and padding made of feather down and Lamb's Ear grown by hers truly. A bed worthy for one of such power to sleep in.
The second floor was open on two sides by a large hole, and found to be very easy for dragons to fly into. This floor was for business; with logs whittled down serving as counters for all manner of projects. Bundle of herbs to be burned, small animals to be harvested from, crystal circles to determine the choices one must make- the list could go on forever. But the most important part must be spoken for. In the center of the room sat the largest crystal perhaps most dragons had ever seen. A deeply cracked quartz crystal- with every manner of color and hue contained inside. In a smattering of gradients, this flawed but perfect rock was the mirror to a dragon's fate. Their reflections in each crack could be watched, the distortions a painted picture of the true self and the future.
And finally; the highest floor, contained on all sides but the ceiling. Like a skylight- a round hole aligned with the moon's cycle in the winter months, when unsure feelings rode highest. Hanging from strings secured to the sloping mouth of the hole were polished crystals, making fractals of moon and starlight across the floor. Here was another nest, though not quite as used; for Dyna to stare into the stars and their picture, and see... Perhaps, why she was here as well?
There couldn't be a more mystical home for a more mystical dragon on this side of the continent. Perhaps... That, is why she found herself... Here.
