  Less hardy than her sister, Nela stayed closer to the clan as a hatchling. While Abigail wandered away into the woods with her father trailing after her, Nela shyly accompanied Scarun on his foraging trips, always staying within the clan's territory. She learned which plants cured itchiness and which plants caused sickness, and everything in between.

As she grew, she began adventuring out more often and further from home, happily foraying into the Viridian Labyrinth's endless forests in search of medicinal herbs. With gentle encouragement from Scarun and approval from her mother, Nela joyously took up the title of Herbalist, and prepared to leave her birthclan in search of others in need of her services.


The young Pearlcatcher's journey would lead her many places, leaving the Labyrinth itself proved to be it's own challenge, but it was one Nela enjoyed taking.

She would soon arrive within the domain of the Earthshaker, the place many know to be called Dragonnhome. The dry, rocky terrain was a change for her, very different from the lush forest she previously called home, but something about this area called out to her. She would continue onward into these barren lands, seeing anything of little interest but having hopes of finding settlements to rest and recover at.

Nela would spend time traveling with caravans, learning the way of the land and visiting capital cities, smaller clans, and even kingdoms. Her travels with the caravans would slowly teach her that this seemingly dead wasteland was brimming with life. Plants could be found everywhere if you knew where to look, from the simplest herbs to glowing flowers if you were close enough to the Isles.

Her travels would soon bring her to In'Shun, a kingdom built within in the sandy desserts in Dragonhome.
