Hex

Hex is unapologetically a plague dragon. From the time she hatched, alone in the Scarred Wastelands, she knew that she was all she had. She eventually left the wastelands, desiring to find more in life than scavenging for scraps to eat and trying to take down larger animals for food. In her travels, over time, she met up with Ivorn, Lydia and Realm. The four of them vowed to protect one another and look after one another, no matter what the costs. After all, who else was going to?

The four hatchlings eventually stumbled across Fenn and Elric setting up their dens on the zephyr steppes. Though Hex had grown accustomed to living as rogue dragons with her fellow hatchlings, she knew her companions longed for a clan to love in, and she was determined to give that to them. As they had already been driven from multiple clans due to their mistrust of Hex as a plague mirror, Hex decided to be the one to ask for a place within the clan.

She was not afraid as she approached the grown dragons, though she saw in their eyes their fear of her. She knew they were protecting eggs, and that they had likely had bad experiences with plague mirrors in the past. Despite this, she bluntly asked for a place within their clan. When Elric challenged her, she exploded. Eventually, Fenn agreed, and Hex and her friends were able to join the clan.

They soon became collectively known as the Hatchling Clan, even long after they were grown. Hex became a warrior within Clan Yonder, and protects the clan from encroaching enemies. She has also become the head of the pack of mirrors, which contains every mirror within the clan except for Flicker.

She ended up becoming mates with Realm, who loved her above all else. She had never known what it was like to be loved in the way Realm loved her.

When Azra overtook the clan, Hex was able to maintain her role as an elite warrior within the clan, and she was able to avoid being offed by Azra, who knew of her undying loyalty to Fenn and Elric. Hex was one of the main leaders of the rebellion, and was careful not to let Azra know about it. Unfotunately, her relationship with Realm grew strained in this time. She saw less and less of him.

Though the rebellion went as planned, the consequences of the rebellion were not what she expected. Lydia had been killed in battle, alongside other brave dragons. Many member of Clan Yonder left following the rebellion, as they felt too much pain had happened there for them to stay. Among those dragons was Realm. Hex watched him go, and barely even got to say goodbye. It is one of her biggest regrets, as she still loves him very deeply. When she goes out in battles, she always keeps an eye out for him, hoping to see him tending to the wounded. She did have another relationship, with another mirror named Mort, but it didn't last long either, as he was killed in battle.

She has always been proud of her plague heritage, though she knows it makes other dragons uncomfortable. She is constantly challenging the stigma around plague dragons, and seeks to not be judged based on her eye colour. Her devotion to her birth flight lead her to be appointed to the position of Plague Representative on the Council of Twelve during Adrika's reign. Her position lead her to be one of the most highly respected dragons in the clan.

Now that the council has been disbanded, Hex is a member of the Warriors Guild. Though she was the one to gather the clan's warriors together, she was willing to pass on her position of leadership to Rose when the older and more experienced fae came along.
