Biography
Genevieve doesn’t talk about where she came from. This is her home, this is her family, right here. Newer members like Verdegris suspect that she simply doesn’t remember where she came from, outside of some scent-memories of friends and enemies. Typical Tundra.
Harold can’t believe that she would let her past slip away, though. Gen has never been okay with losing anything. She stared him down and announced that none of their young would be exalted. Ever. Back when it was just the two of them, she was frantic to gather food enough to fill what was then a quarter of the cave. He went to sleep after a day of hunting, and woke up to find that she had spent the night staring at their two eggs.
Genevieve agreed that they needed another clan mate. They went to the market, where other clans in need would offer their dragons in exchange for treasure. Asking for a warrior and an egg-watcher, they found Eustace. Gen insisted that they pay for not only him, but Audrey, the hatchling he was playing with.
In battle, Genevieve is working towards being a healer, training her defense so that she can stay in battle the longest. Despite her rising levels, she enjoys going to the training grounds and defeating creatures there. There are few spoils and even less experience, but she laughs and insist that they battle again, kill more. Laughter turns to rage if any of her partners fall. Her offensive moves are few, but she will scream and hiss that the attackers are as good as dead. Maybe it’s for the best that she’s stepping back to allow their new clanmates to practice battling.
The most furious she has been was on a scavenging trip. She found an Earth egg. Genevieve silently walked over to it. Calmly. It could be a boulder, it could be a clump of dead leaves, it could…
It smelled like Tundra.
Returning to the cave, she didn’t roar or move any way other than gently. The egg that she cradled would not be hurt by her, or by anyone ever again.
(It smelled like Mother, it smelled like mushrooms and Shadowbinder’s acolytes, it smelled like crying and strange dragons and the words “exalted” and “special” and “come with us” and not home and never home again)
She set the egg down, and breathed warmly on it so it would hatch in a few minutes.
Then she flew back to where she had found it and razed the ground.
