Zhao cam up to the clan with words from a god from ancient times. He claims this forgotten deity can make your wildest dreams come true at any time, for the right price. No one really knows what he told Veiled to get a spot in the clans ranks but most people prefer to steer clear of him.
If you do talk to him he nearly always has a word or two about his god to share with anyone who listens. Many people actually refer to this god only as a bloodgod of sorts and Zhao does nothing to actually talk against those rumors. He just says everyone needs to find their own way with the great one, and if that is their conclusion it has to be that way.
The way Zhao does business with the clan does seem to fuel the talks about a bloodgod though. He says his potions and spells can help you with many things though if he accepts to do work for you it always comes at a price. If its just a normal potion for good health it may just be treasure or some trinkets but if it is something big that warrants one of Zhao's dark rituals he may ask for something more and more dubious ways of payment, may it be blood or some living critters. He never went too far to actually claim other dragons as far as it is known but many others prefer not to do business with him at all.
