Inferno

sketchy | quick-witted | sneaky

Clan Leader / Merchant

AKkRQwX.png

Inferno was a hood, clear as the sky. He would wander the Driftwood Drag looking for trouble. He often found it with beastclans and such, but almost never with dragons. Until one day be did. The imperial was massive, dark as the night with a heart even colder. Inferno didn't care; he was the toughest in the Wood. He could take on anyone.
He was wrong.
The imperial nearly broke his neck, the only thing saving Inferno being a very green, very sarcastic coatl traveling. This coatl is also known as Shadowclaw, who is a bit younger than Inferno.
Because of the situation, Inferno being stuck inside the coatl's hut(aka the Shadow Orphanage, he later learned), he finally learned some morals. Not great morals, mind you. We're talking about the Tangled Wood here, let's be real. But he did learn the law, if only to break it. From then on, Shadowclaw and Inferno were thick as thieves, metaphorically and literally. They traveled as merchants, across the Shifting expanse and Dragonhome and the Tangled wood. They sold everything from shells to scavenged dragon eggs. Even weapons.
They came across a pub in the shifting expanse one day, filled with restless rogues and overworked employees. One of the most striking dragon in there, however, was a skydancer later known as Copper. Right next to him were two mirrors, one green with orange accents and another purple with green wings. They looked ratty and dusty, so Inferno wasn't very interested at the time. Him and Shadowclaw were busy trying to see who could impress the handsome skydancer first. Too busy to notice that the two mirrors had spilled drinks on a particularly irritated group of guardians. Too busy trying to impress to notice that poor skydancer was saying, "No, I'm not interested in your trinkets, yes it's cool that you can sing only making sounds with your tongue, and I already have a boyfriend." And too busy to notice that the two mirrors were going to get stomped.
The first sign came when a piece of glass hit and scratched Shadowclaw on the nose, earning a string of cuss words not in draconian. What happened next blew the two away. Literally. One of the guardians set a beer barrel on fire. The whole pub burst into flames, dragons rolling around and stampeding out of the place. Inferno spotted the two mirrors that started it and ran after them, dragging Shadowclaw along. They came to a stop after following the duo for 3 miles, far enough where they couldn't smell the smoke anymore. So did the guardians.
Inferno and Shadowclaw hid behind a wall of limestone while the rogue battle went on. That is, until the green mirror was thrown over the wall and in front of the other two. She glared at them and ran back into battle.
Inferno could appreciate that fighting spirit she had in her eyes(and still has today), and respected her greatly. The second time she was thrown over the wall, however, she had so many wounds Inferno was surprised she was even breathing. She got up, wobbled, and fell back down, closing her eyes. A big guardian, who looked a lot like the imperial, jumped over the wall to finish her off. Inferno didn't know why he did it, but he did. He launched himself onto the massive dragon and bit, as hard as he could, into its neck, stilling the dragon. Then he charged into battle with the other purple mirror and fought. Shadowclaw soon joined him, and even the green mirror got back up. They fought and fought and fought and won. For once in his life, Inferno had won. He had won. And that meant something this time, it meant something because he saved someone. A pretty cool dragon at that too.
From then on, the four of them were close friends. They even started a clan. Tech, formerly known as the green mirror, promoted him to co-leader for saving her life.
Little did Inferno know that this would lead to.
Day by day of working near and around her, he noticed things he hadn't before. Her deep green scales reminded him of the trees he found safety in, her midnight wings like the night sky that blanketed them, and the fiery markings that reminded him of the ferocity in the rogue fight they had won. He would try to make her smile when he could, and be as close as he could around her. It was like all he wanted to do was with her. She was like the storm; cold and unforgiving, but lod=ud and booming with brightness. A living oxymoron, if you will. And he loved every single bit of her, her laugh, her smile, her viciousness, it was as if nothing else mattered. He had never known what he had wanted, but he knew now. He loved her. He loved her so much it hurt. It hurt when she would go on long treks to gather resources and fight off beastclans, it hurt when she would come back beaten and bloody, and it hurt when she would push the pain back to show that everything was fine. It wasn't, and he knew it, but she refused to say it. He loved that part about her too, her selflessness.
One day, they were fishing by a river, when Inferno asked what she would say if he stole a ring for her. She said she'd slap him. So Inferno said, "Fine, what if I bought it for you?"
And Tech said yes.
From that day on, Tech and Inferno were one of the two most formidable dragons in Sornieth. Side by side they fought, as if they were one being. They could be beat, yes, but they would get you back one way or another. That rogue spirit never dies, even in dragons as honorable as Tech or Inferno. Inferno finally found what he needed, and he was never letting go.

Den Status
Denmate: Tech
Den size: Medium, carved by Bloodshed for accessibility for her and Inferno
Cleanliness: Not very. Prey bones are piled into the corner and shed scales are shoved under the rug they have.
Description: Their den is carved into the hill you see when you pass the Plague Flight flag hung up. Albeit a little low, the cave suits them perfectly.

Fighting Tactics
Bites and scratches a lot. Fights in spurts of energy.

Overall personality
Tech is very expressive, crest wise of course. She’s still getting used to expressing things through her voice. Although, she’s lost most of the desire to talk an would rather communicate through actions instead of words. Her crest still flaps up and down when she talks. It's funny to watch, really. She couldn't hold a grudge to save her life, and is very easy to calm down. Mostly impulsive, a lot of the improvements the clan has had recently were of her doing. She knows what she wants and she'll do what she has to to get it. She can get pretty nasty if you mess with any of her clanmates, especially her family.

Habits/Mannerisms
Tech is always moving, even if it doesn't seem like it. She's either flipping her tail or twitching her crest. Oddly enough, when she's nervous she gets eerily still, appearing to be less nervous than before. She always keeps eye contact, even when it gets awkward. It's hard to avoid her gaze. She also flies absentmindedly, which can get on the other dragons' nerves.
