Biography
Adonis hadn’t seen a pack of Mirror dragons since he had left the last one. It was strange. The longest time he could remember going without seeing more of his species was...well, it was a lot shorter of a time than this. The eternal shade that cloaked the Hewn City made it difficult to tell time. All he knew for sure was that he had stayed there for far longer than Mirrors liked to. His injury had healed long ago, but something kept him there, in his makeshift lair in the ruins of a, presumably, once vibrant and populous community.
Adonis had never been very fond of any of the dragons he had traveled with before. He’d had friends before, and he had been somewhat close with his family at one point, but it was never to the extent that he would miss them for very long when he inevitably left to find a new pack and a new territory. That was why he hadn’t been upset when they had left him after he had been injured, besides the usual annoyance at having to take time away from hunting and having to find a new pack. The first sign that something had changed for him was that he kept coming back to that city.
“Thanks for healing me, Fritillary.”
“Don’t worry about it. I’m glad I could help you.”
Adonis was sitting on the ground beside Fritillary. She was the only dragon he had seen since he had left his last pack due to his injury. Although he had never been fond of conversation, it had been nice to talk to the Fae. She was considerate and sweet, with a gentleness and kindness that he had rarely seen among the Mirrors he used to spend time with.
“Will you be leaving after this?”
Fritillary’s monotone didn’t tell him much about her meaning, but he felt himself hoping that she didn’t want him to go.
“I should find a new pack soon, yes.”
“I’ll miss you. If you ever need somewhere to stay, you’re welcome here.”
“Thank you.”
