Hemlock remembers little of his hatchling days. His clan was located in the Reedcleft Ascent until it was destroyed. To this day he knows little of what actually transpired – rumor says a clan of Wildclaws; yet another says a lone Mirror. A million different whispers but all Hemlock remembers is the carnage he had to witness and the hardship there after.

Scared and with no ties, Hemlock ran at large in the thicket. He was a scared hatchling yes, but he had an iron resolve to become strong with the hope of discovering the truth and enacting long overdo justice. This lifestyle has given him a defensive nature and he trusts no one, with the exception of Baylie. With her Hemlock feels every bit a bright-eyed hatchling and just as mischievous.

It was never Hemlock's intention to settle with a clan until he had served justice for his old one, but he has for now. Hemlock remains flighty although he recognizes that the Night Papillon Clan offers him unique opportunities to gather information from Barda, observe Mirrors and Nightclaws from allied clans, and stay with Baylie. No doubt if he could convince her to leave he would be gone.

Hemlock and Anwyl often butt heads as Hemlock is very head strong and assertive, unused to the waiting game of politics that comes with leading a clan. But he listens to Anwyl begrudgingly, as even he can understand that Anwyl is physically strong if nothing else, however Baylie's persuasion has a far larger hand in that.
