Biography

Lelial - The Fallen

- | - | -

The little imperial boy was sitting apart from the other hatchlings, when Tequemitan first noticed the hatchling. The boy seemed shy, timid even, looking at the stranger with big dark blue eyes. A shade of blue so familiar and yet.... Teque could not place it.
After some observation the Coatl offered to take the boy in. The parents cautioned that he was special, of course he was a good boy, a fast learner and would be an asset to any clan. He was just a bit different. This piqued Teque's interest even more.
They gave him medicine for the boy, but didn't go into details. He was a good boy and would be of great service, they adamantly repeated as if he would return the "runt of the litter" as soon as he could.
On the road the old dragon told the Imp boy about his new clan, while the little one bobbed his head. The boy was well mannered and attentive, traits Teque appreciated and knew Alatariel would approve of as well.
They set up camp for the night on the border of the Ashfall Waste. The hatchling looked up at the old coatl: "Would you mind if I slept next to you, Tequemitan?"
The old dragon paused, before smiling: "No, I would not."
Lelial smiled as well and nestled into Tequemitan's side. "The others would not let me sleep at their side," were his last words before the boy dozed off, leaving the elder pondering the words. Who was it that the boy reminded him of? He still could not place it. Teque belatedly realized that he had forgotten to give the boy his medicine, it had slipped his mind. There did not seem anything wrong with the boy.
As the first groans and moans issued from the little body, Teque woke and examined the hatchling closely. There it was again, this uncanny feeling of familiarity. It was something in the way he tossed and turned. Lelial's sudden chirp send chills down the spines of the Coatl. He knew that chirp. No Imperial chirped, not like THAT.
He had to bring the little one to the clan as soon as possible, but the boy was already half his size, so carrying him was not an option and they still had a long flight ahead. It had to wait. He could just soothe the boy with a spell, so that he would be rested in the morning.
When they arrived at the clan, Tequemitan ushered the boy to the healers, before heading of to announce the newcomer to the Matriach and trying to locate Linnea.
He found the females together in Alatariel's laboratory. Linnea was still the only dragon Alatariel had not successfully scared off.
"What do you want?" Alatariel did not even look up from her cauldron, when the old Coatl entered. The skydancer balanced a flask with some unidentifiable liquid over the cauldron, counting the drops as they dripped into the foaming concoction.
Linnea flew over as soon as she spotted Tequemitan, smiling at him and signing that Alatariel's mood was not the best. The Coatl patted the young nocturne's head affectionately. Her eyes were the same....
"I have found a new member for the clan. The boy is special. It's an Imperial named Lelial."
He gazed at Linnea. "You both want to come. I think he is connected to you, Linnea."
"WHAT?!" Alatariel almost dropped the flask she was holding into the cauldron. The skydancer swirled her head around, her red eyes gleaming furiously. "I don't need another one of her around!" The skydancer scolded.
"I don't think he's the same as her, but they are connected, Alatariel. The boy chirped in his sleep." Linnea squinted at Tequemitan silently mimicking the Matriach. "Maybe he can help her."
Alatariel sighed and put her flask away: "Fine. Lead me to him."

Soul linked to Linnea.
