Clan Researcher, Appraiser, Copyist
Rust is the clan researcher, above Emissary's haphazard brewing and Fomalhault's unfocused tinkering. Any sort of mechanism, creature or material has to go through him as soon as it enters the clan - mostly to keep Sunset's nerves in check over what the battle team drags along in their travels - and he'll gladly study it thoroughly.

The Ridgeback was raised by Earth dragons despite his Ice heritage, and the combined ideologies blossomed in an affinity for recording all sorts of research and preserving it in many copies to share with friends and fellow enthusiasts. The fame in Dragonhome got in the way of his love, however, and he moved to calmer lands in Wind where he's another voice in the already interesting crowd.

Despite being younger than her, Zenith is his apprentice, and he is one of the few dragons in the clan that tolerates her. Instead, he has tons of fun as she eagerly describes every name for the object she's discovered as she returned from exploring and what effects it possibly might have. He heard her say it's like a "flavor text" and anyone could learn it, but until scrolls start tasting like food, he prefers to think she has a gift.
